Sunlight Textile Services provides textile rental and laundering services to different sectors of the economy. The core service in all cases is the sourcing and provision on a rental basis of the textiles required by the sector, together with a full management service including collection of soiled textiles, laundering, return of clean items, repairs, replacements and information for customers’ management when required, for example on usage of linen. The division employs circa 7,000 people at a network of approximately 50 sites.

Hotels & Hospitality
The product range primarily comprises:
  • Bed linen in different specifications
  • Towelling
  • Table linen in various sizes and colours
  • Kitchen cloths
Customers include most of the major UK hotel groups together with independent hotels and some larger accommodation providers such as training colleges, Universities and holiday parks.

Manufacturing and Industrial
Provision is mainly of work clothing such as:
  • General work clothing (e.g. boilersuits)
  • Specialist clothing for food manufacturing
  • Protective and high visibility clothing
  • Chefs and kitchen garments
  • Bespoke garments in corporate colours and designs
The division also offers related products such as floor protection mats and cabinet hand towels. Customers include large industrial and manufacturing companies, food manufacturers, the automotive and repair sector, restaurants and retail businesses.

Healthcare
The product range includes a wide range of items such as:
  • Bed linen
  • Patient gowns
  • Scrub suits
  • Blankets
  • Stretcher covers
  • Cubicle screening curtains
The service typically includes an on-site Sunlight team who distribute textiles to wards and other delivery points within the hospital. Sunlight’s plants comply with NHS guidelines and operate rigorous procedures to ensure infection control. The business serves NHS Trusts.


Sunlight Clinical Solutions

The division comprises four subsidiary businesses:

BDF manufactures single use drapes and gowns for operating theatres and surgical applications, which it supplies direct to hospitals but also to other healthcare organisations and to its sister company, Rocialle.

Rocialle
is a leading supplier of customer procedure trays, which are trays comprising a specific set of disposable surgical instruments and equipment for a specific surgical procedure, which may include gowns and drapes from BDF. It also provides packs of dressings and other single use surgical equipment.

Protex
supplies re-usable surgical drapes and gowns to NHS hospitals, including provision, collection of soiled items, processing, delivery and management on a top-up system together with traceability.

IHSS provides decontamination and sterilisation of re-usable surgical instruments.

All of these businesses provide a sterile end product and comply with a number of stringent quality standards and regulations designed to ensure the safety of both the patient and the medical practitioner. Clinical Solutions customers are typically NHS and private hospitals in the UK, with some product from BDF and Rocialle being exported.

Sunlight Direct Sales

Sunlight Direct Sales logo
Sunlight Direct Sales operates through Mitre Hall and Letts, based in South Wales, supplying products such as linens, blankets, bedspreads, shower curtains, ready made curtains and other soft furnishings. The company manufactures its own soft furnishings and offers a bespoke service to customers.

Customers include large hotel groups, boarding schools and Universities, holiday accommodation, nursing and residential homes and the Royal Households.
